3/4O - Mr Onley
Welcome to 3/4 O - Mr Paul Onley |
|
Mr Onley's grade enjoys a wide range of activities including circle time, literacy groups, creative writing, as well as creative activities such as drawing, art/craft and construction. We will be incorporating some drama and acting into the classroom as well. As part of our Connections Program Mr Onley is delivering an open-ended science unit on electricity. "The children get to experiment with simple circuits and find out what works and what doesn't. It's up to them to find out how to light the bulbs and make the circuits work." Mr Onley is a member of the School Council as well the School Facilities Committee. This term, we have have a science focus, and have been looking at forces, energy and movement. Children have made and played musical instruments, telephones out of cups and string, and even solar-powered ovens! They have learnt how simple machines like ramps, screws and levers make work easier for us. We are also looking forward to the CSIRO's incursion this week with "Lab on Legs". Our other exciting news this term is we have begun looking at film making. We have discussed all the different roles involved in making a movie, from writing the story to designing the look of costumes and backgrounds, to using the camera to create interesting and exciting scenes. As part of our film studies we have been experimenting with photography and how to create interesting shots using angles, lighting and subjects. Here are some examples of our amatuer photography: ![]() ![]() Outside of school Paul enjoys keeping fit, painting and drawing, playing music and playing with his Shar Pei puppy Wilhelm. |
