Fund Raising

The Fundraising Committee organises a variety of activities to raise valuable funds for purchasing equipment and funding of programs not able to be funded through Education Department monies. The Fundraising Committee oversees all fund raising within the school (except charities/Junior School Council).

The funds raised are distributed via a priority list which is a list created at the end of each year from suggestions and wishes of the Wandin Yallock staff and parent community. This list is then sent out for voting by the whole school community and the list is then finalised. As funds are raised throughout the year these items are purchased in order of the list. Part of our funds raised is also used for our stadium. This fantastic facility has been built purely from funds raised through school.

The committees philosophy of “bigger is better” when it comes to raising money. We are committed to focusing our energy on major events such as the Family Fun Fair which is held in First Term, The Big Night Out, Trivia Night, and the Walkathon. We believe these types of events offer great opportunity for social engagement and enhance community involvement whilst proving to be tremendous money raisers. We also have a chocolate Drive. We also will continue with Field Days and other catering opportunities that come our way such as the Victoria House Auctions in Wandin, as these are a terrific way of fundraising without putting the pinch on our school community pockets. By committing time and energy to these major events we limit the number of fundraising events held through out the year.

The aim is to involve all families in these activities. Meetings are held as advertised in the school newsletter and everybody is welcome to come along.
