Historical Education Program
An historical education program at Mont De Lancey, right in the Yarra Valley.
The Historical Education Program at Mont De Lancey is managed and run by Wandin Yallock Primary School in partnership with Mont De Lancey Historical Society and has been established for well over 20 years. Wandin Yallock's partnership with Mont De Lancey has been long standing in many forms such as excursions, events and hosting other schools, and due to this relationship there are many leadership opportunities for our Wandin Yallock PS senior students.
The Historical Education Program explores the lifestyles of late 19th Century to early 20th Century Wandin settlers. Guided tours of the facilities and hands on experiences of settler activities for all students ensure a rich understanding of this unique time in our history and is linked to the Victorian Curriculum.
Whether it is being ‘disciplined' or learning to write with chalk on blackboards in our old school house, playing quoits, making peg dolls & lavender bags, or watching the Blacksmith or Woodturners at work, students are always engaged and eager to participate in this hands-on learning experience.
Activities are designed to cater for Primary School Students but Secondary Schools are also welcome. For further information or to request a booking, please enquire through the form below, or click the following button to read the brochure.
